In this commissioned work, Elder again addresses the impending disruptions of Andean Glacier Melt using a topographic model in which participants could manipulate the runoff through the terrain at the base of the mountain. ​Turkey basters stood in for hydraulic pumps. Spray bottles dispensed extra rainfall to simulate the warming climate. Our young civil engineers displayed tremendous ingenuity in terms of distributed storage.

A Tibetan writer returned with her extended family for a second day as the predicaments were an intimate part of her lived experience. Herders have to pasture their animals higher and higher on the slopes each year.
