CENTER FOR ART+ PUBLIC LIFE
CALIFORNIA COLLEGE OF ART
ADJUNCT PROFESSOR: LAUREN ELDER
2005-2016
Elder developed fieldwork courses for final year students, enabling them to apply their skills to real life situations. During the semester they were introduced to community organizations and developed team projects to meet the needs of their clients. They were expected to develop a proposal, timeline, budget and deliverables. The outcomes were often spectacular. Samples are drawn from three community gardens in the Bayview-Hunter's Point area of San Francisco, one of our principal areas of concentration.
